University of Southern Queensland - Head Start Programusq_logo.jpg

USQ Head Start subjects are available to students in Years 11 and 12. Head Start subjects run for one semester, although students can elect to study additional subjects in subsequent semesters.

While many of the units are available externally, USQ’s location in Toowoomba makes it ideal for students to study on-campus.

The advantages of completing a USQ Headstart subject include:

  • The first subject studied through the Headstart program is tuition-fee free. The only financial cost to students is transport and textbooks.
  • Students are able to get a taste for both uni life and the field of study which they are thinking of pursuing.
  • A pass in a USQ Headstart subject provides guaranteed entry into USQ, upon successful completion of Year 12 and, provided that the subject pre-requisites are met.

To gain entry to the Head Start Program, students must have a B average on their latest report card.

For information regarding the USQ Headstart Program and the subjects currently on offer, see http://www.usq.edu.au/futurestudents/headstart/
