Chemistry
In Years Eleven and Twelve, the Science electives of Biology, Chemistry and Physics are offered as subjects. In Years Nine and Ten, students are placed in either the Advanced or General stream of Science. Science is a compulsory subject for all Year Eight students.
Senior High Chemistry deals with the composition, structure and properties of matter and the changes it undergoes. A study of chemistry will help students gain a better understanding of the precision and design of the physical world God created.
Senior High Chemistry is suited to students who have studied Advanced Mathematics and Advanced Science in Junior High. It is also beneficial for students to be studying Mathematics B.
A good background in Chemistry is essential for an increasing number of professions in a range of areas including agriculture, health, forensic science, nursing, forestry, industry, environmental work, zoology, marine science, pathology, photography, engineering, laboratory work and dental.
