Toowoomba Christian College | Facilities

"That's more than we expected"... is what most parents say after taking a look around our school.

Most visitors to the school are surprised by how much there is in the school that is not visible from the road.

Besides the quality of the buildings, the gardens and the ambience of the school, there is a lot more going on for the students than people expect. We invite you to visit our school to see our excellent facilities for yourself.

Toowoomba Christian College | Curriculum

Our innovative curriculum allows greater flexibility in today’s dynamic educational arena.

100% of our students who applied to do tertiary study after graduating Year 12 in 2011, including both those who applied through QTAC and those who applied by direct application, were successful in being accepted.

Students at the school study university and trades along with core subjects which enhance their graduation outcomes.

 Prep Teacher 2016

ROLE

The teacher is responsible for implementing the vision and mission of the school in the context of the classroom and in other areas of the school in which the teacher works.  They are to show Godly leadership to the children, expressing an outworking of their faith not only in the way in which they relate to students and parents, but all the other interactions they have in their capacity of classroom teacher.  A teacher should strive to understand the curriculum area(s) that they teach to students and to teach the content from a Christian perspective in an age appropriate manner.  It is expected that a teacher will seek and take up opportunities to develop this aspect of their teaching practice.

The teacher is also expected to be involved in the wider life of the school, whilst maintaining a proper work/life balance.

The teacher has a responsibility to the Principal through to exercise the purpose and values of the school in and out of the classroom.  In partnership with the Head of School the teacher will deliver the academic program in a way that fosters the pursuit of excellence and the attainment of each student’s potential.

Whilst the role of the teacher is central to the holistic development of all students, the pastoral care system and co-curricular program play a vital role in this holistic development, with participation in these areas an expectation of the teacher.
